The yacht SHAF is a regular customer of MARIO LOPEZ and in this time came to the Shipyard to do one of the most important works that normally this kind of vessels do. The SHAF is a MegaYacht of 55 m of length and the work done in the shipyard has been the refilled and re-painted of the all the exterior surface.

The vessel arrive to the Shipyard on February 22nd and leave our utilities on May 3rd. During that time over the works of refilling and paint, the following works were done without interferences with the main work:

* Renew of Classification Society Certificates.
* Thickness Measurements with report
* High pressure hull cleaning (400 bars)
* Hull Painting
* Sea Valves checking
* Cleaning of sea chests & SW Filters
* Re-new of zinc anodes
* Clearances of shaft and rudder.
* Polishing of propeller blades.
* HP cleaning and measurement and report of both anchor chains
* Prefabricate, install and test of different pipes in Engine Room
* Change some steel pieces (1.200 x 650 mm) in the hull, surrounding area of exhaust pipes.
* Change position of fresh Water Generator.
* Cleaning of tanks, fresh water, ballast, gas-oil.
* Unload of dirty oil according Marpol regulations.

DETAILED

As we mention the most important work developed on the MegaYacht “SHAF”in MARIO LOPEZ Shipyard, has been the refilling and repainted of the upper sides of the vessel, including all the exterior passenger areas.

Due to environmental conditions required by the paint suppliers to do this kind of jobs it was necessary to cover all the Yacht with scaffolding around perimeter of the vessel, mounting an special PVC structure and install a retractile plastic cover on PVC structure.

The refilling has been in those areas where it was detected cracks and/or blisters. Once the damaged areas were marked and agreed with the paint maker surveyor, the process start taken out all the damaged filling. In those areas it was necessary to re-done all the paint treatment applying an anticorrosive coat.

In the surrounding areas of panama guides, when the filling was removed the condition of the steel was below Classification Register allowance, and the Owner with the shipyard decide to change those areas.

Additionally of Perfection Polyurethane high shine paint in the walking areas it was apply a non slip paint and all wood over the handrails was varnished.

Also, during the period of time the yacht was in MARIO LOPEZ, S.A. the following works was done:

* Cleaning and paint of Engine Room Bildges.
* Change the exterior ventilation grids.
* Overhaul of both Main Engines.
* Overhaul of the gas-oil quick closing valves.
* Change of electrical motors of the winches with a new ones of more power and two speeds.
* Change the marine shaft seals of the port shaft

When all the works finished, the vessel go to sea trials without any problem in all the systems.
