- β¬110,000,000
Description
π VENUS Superyacht β One of the most radical yacht designs of 2013, created by Steve Jobs in collaboration with renowned designer Philippe Starck π₯οΈ. The sleek, minimalist design blends timeless architecture, influenced by Dieter Rams and Frank Lloyd Wright, with cutting-edge technology ππ».
π Commissioned by Steve Jobs in 2008 after summers aboard Larry Ellisonβs yacht, Venus was built by Feadship and designed by Starckβs company Ubik. Jobs envisioned a futuristic sailing paradise with seamless tech integration, combining luxury with his passion for design and technology π€β¨.
π« Tragically, Jobs passed away in 2011, and Venus was unveiled on October 28, 2012, at the Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands. Costing over β¬100 million πΆ, the yacht’s name was inspired by the Roman goddess of love π. Its aluminum exterior and floor-to-ceiling windows reflect Appleβs sleek, minimalist aesthetic π±.
π§ The yacht features a cleverly concealed upper deck for communications and TV receivers, showcasing the harmonious blend of design and technology. Inside, Venus houses six luxurious bedrooms π, with custom communication systems linking the kids’ rooms in the front with the adult quarters at the rear ποΈ. Every system onboard, including lighting and climate control, can be managed via Apple devices like iPads and iPhones ππ±.
π» The wheelhouse of Venus is powered by seven 27″ iMacs, making it a tech loverβs dream and allowing for full control of the vessel’s systems. A rear hatch opens to launch a speedboat π€, providing easy shore access when thereβs no dock available.
π However, in December 2012, the yacht was briefly impounded in Amsterdam due to a payment dispute with Starck, who claimed Jobs’ estate still owed him β¬3 million from his β¬9 million design fee. The matter was settled on December 24, 2012, and the yacht was released after the payment was made πΌ.
βοΈ The engineering of this innovative vessel was led by De Voogt Naval Architects, renowned for many of Feadshipβs groundbreaking yachts. Apple’s chief designer, Jony Ive, contributed to the structural glass throughout the yacht, making it a true collaboration of visionary minds π.
πΌ After Steve Jobsβ passing, Venus was left to his widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, and it remains a family treasure, honoring Jobsβ legacy of innovation and design simplicity π«.

βοΈ Legal Dispute: A dispute over Starckβs fee temporarily halted Venus‘ journey in December 2012, leading to its impounding in Amsterdam. After the payment of β¬3 million, the yacht was released and continues to be one of the most iconic superyachts in the world π.
β Refit & Maintenance: In August 2015, Venus underwent a refit in Monaco, ensuring it remains at the forefront of luxury and technology. The yacht received upgrades to its onboard systems and comforts to stay in line with the latest advancements π’π οΈ.
π Feadship & Philippe Starck: Feadship, one of the most prestigious yacht builders in the world, is behind some of the most luxurious vessels, including Anna, SYMPHONY, and Faith. Philippe Starck, a design icon, applied his innovative touch to Venus, further cementing his reputation with works like Motor Yacht A and Sailing Yacht A π.
