While details of her interior are kept closely guarded, she is said to have a contemporary interior décor sprawling over 2,300 square metres, and she has accommodations for up to 54 guests. A movie theatre, beach club and helipad are among the special features of this six-deck yacht.
Genesis Yachtline delivered the interior for Maryah, and company president Roberto Lottini was able to share limited details about creating the highly custom interiors for the ultra-private yacht.
According to the Roberto Lottini, Genesis worked with a very specific brief from the owner. “It was a very sophisticated owner and design studio that from the first day when they delivered the design package said, ‘This is the interior and these are the finishes and material we want, nothing less. It is up to you to find the solutions to comply with the SOLAS codes’.”
Her interior suppliers, Genesis Yachtline, also share details of the challenge of creating the turnkey interior for this superyacht, which is one of the largest in the world. The all-steel, full-displacement motor yacht is a former Russian research vessel, originally launched by the Polish Szczecinska yard in Poland in 1990. She underwent an extensive five-year rebuild with the Elefsis Shipyards in Greece, designed by London’s H2 Yacht Design, and built to SOLAS regulations.
Genesis Yachtline had to certify 11 different wood veneers – ash, bamboo, rosewood, sycamore, teak, zebrano, wengè, walnut, oak, ebony and cherry – with characteristics of low flame spread and with small production of smoke and toxicity.
“Genesis Yachtline was assigned this job as a ‘turnkey’ project, which means that we provided the interior completed with all its features: marble, upholstery, loose furniture, light fixtures, bathrooms, accessories, etc.”, Roberto Lottini says. “It was the biggest challenge we had ever faced in our company history.”
H2 were commissioned by an existing client in 2009 to design the interior and exterior of a yacht large enough to carry over 50 passengers as well as provide all the facilities required for self-contained cruising around the world. This huge project is now taking shape in a European yard for delivery late 2012.
The yacht will accommodate 54 passengers in total luxury and is therefore being constructed to full SOLAS regulations. Despite this, H2 have developed a modern but luxurious interior, providing its guests with every conceivable facility including a large nightclub, fully equipped spa, business centre, computer room, games room, gym, private dining room, sushi bar and a full cinema.
The exterior of the yacht is a no compromise, elegant design with large entertainment deck areas. Great effort was made to hide the lifeboats to maintain a clean Superyacht look.
A fully certified helicopter platform gives guests direct access to the yacht, whilst its 10m tenders will take clients to any beach or port they wish to visit. With its trade mark H2 balconies and aggressive hull shape, the exterior styling is a beautiful and unique design that will stand the test of time.
The overall style of the interior decor is undoubtedly contemporary, with a fresh clean appearance whilst remaining luxurious and practical. By combining striking veneers with soft leathers and contrasting fabrics, H2 have created a stunning, unique interior that will offer its guests every conceivable facility they require.
Maryah offers luxury accommodation for up to 54 guests.
Maryah features a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) classification society rules.
This luxury yacht is also fitted with ‘zero speed stabilizers’ which work at anchor, increasing on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary, particularly in rough waters.
Powered by 5 Caterpillar 2,146hp diesel-electric engines and propelled by her twin azipods Motor yacht Maryah is capable of a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15.2 knots. She can carry around 533,000 litres of diesel-electric on-board in her fuel tanks. Her water tanks store around 216,000 litres of fresh water.
