Lürssen’s renowned superyacht, Ahpo, measuring 115.1 meters, has been successfully sold in a transaction facilitated by Moran Yacht & Ship, representing both the seller and the buyer. As part of the sale, the superyacht has been rechristened Lady Jorgia.
Lady Jorgia, constructed by the esteemed German shipyard Lürssen and delivered in 2021, stands out with its timeless and elegant bow, complemented by a gracefully sweeping superstructure at the aft. The external and internal design of the yacht is the creative work of Nuvolari Lenard, with distinct black elements on the superstructure, lending it a unique and captivating aesthetic.
Last year, the interior of Lady Jorgia was unveiled for the first time, showcasing a harmonious blend of natural elements, exuding a sense of balance and opulence. The main saloon of the yacht exemplifies elegance, featuring a contemporary style with soft tones, and even boasts a self-playing Steinway piano.
With eight generously sized staterooms, Lady Jorgia has the capacity to accommodate up to 16 guests. The owner’s apartment can be accessed through a private interior staircase, leading to a panoramic owner’s saloon with recessed balconies on either side. The remaining seven guest staterooms consist of two on the owner’s deck, four on the main deck, and one on the lower deck.
Among the notable features of Lady Jorgia is a 12-seater cinema situated past the glass-encased engine room, as well as a wellness area on the lower deck, featuring a stunning backdrop of a large bamboo tree enclosed in backlit frosted glass.
Lady Jorgia is built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure and is powered by twin MTU engines, offering a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. At the time of its sale, Lady Jorgia had an asking price of €330,000,000 and is set to be available for charter in the Mediterranean during the upcoming summer season. The exterior and interior design of the yacht were both executed by Nuvolari Lenard Design.
The exterior lines of Lady Jorgia draw inspiration from the renowned Ferrari supercar, the La Ferrari. Key statistics of Lady Jorgia include a length overall (LOA) of 114.75 meters (376 feet), a beam of 17.8 meters (58 feet), and a draft of 4.3 meters (14 feet). The yacht can accommodate 14 guests in seven suites. It was built by Lürssen Yachts.
The current owner of the yacht Lady Jorgia is Patrick Dovigi, a Canadian billionaire and the founder of Green For Life Environmental Inc.
However, the yacht was originally built for Michael Lee-Chin, a Jamaican-Canadian businessman and investor. Lee-Chin is the founder and chairman of Portland Holdings Inc., a privately held investment company with a diverse portfolio of companies. He gained recognition as the founder of AIC Limited, a prominent Canadian mutual fund company that achieved significant success and growth.
It’s worth noting that Michael Lee-Chin previously owned the yacht Quattroelle, which he eventually sold to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum.
Previously named Project ENZO, M/Y AHPO, or Project TESTAROSSA, as it was once known, was sold in September 2018 to a repeat Lürssen client, who had previously owned an 86-meter yacht designed by Nuvolari Lenard. With a gross tonnage of 5,000, the yacht is described as “family-focused” and offers various sports and leisure facilities on board, including an extra-large gym on the skylounge and a wellness area on the lower deck.
The 5,257GT superyacht is powered by twin MTU 20V 4,000hp engines and she is equipped with advanced systems such as a heat recovery used to warm the swimming pool, dynamic positioning, four Quantum fin stabilisers and controllable-pitch propellers for manoeuvring at low speed. She has a full-time crew of 36 and is serviced by two custom 12-metre IC Yacht guest tenders, plus rescue tenders, with a commercially-certified helipad supporting a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter.
Ahpo (now Lady Jorgia) was asking €330,000,000.
