German shipyard, Abeking & Rasmussen has the 13th Jan 2017 officially launched the largest yacht in their history, the 98-meter Aviva for UK billionaire, Joe Lewis.
Previously known as Hull 6501, this four-deck displacement yacht features exterior styling by Reymond Langton Design. This is the largest project to date by by Reymond Langton Design, surpassing the 91 metre Lürssen Lady Lara.
Lewis, whose net worth is estimated at $5,3 billion by Forbes, is also the current owner of the 68-meter Aviva, delivered by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007. The new 98-meter is to become the UK billionaire’s 4th Aviva.
Aviva’s striking blue hull and modern, seamlessly styled profile – designed by Reymond Langton Design and Toby Silverton – provides the bold first impression exterior of the largest superyacht ever to leave the Abeking & Rasmussen yard.
Modern interior with a full sized padel tennis court, 20m x 10m x 6m high.
The powerful looking hull is the result of new research and testing which ensures superior seakeeping abilities combined with a 20% decrease in drag. Less engine output is required, fuel consumption is reduced and the maximum speed is a full 20 knots.Aviva can sail at a speed of 11-knots without her main engines.
A&R managed to launch the yacht within 33 months from signing of the contract.
The guest accommodation may be on the forward main deck with the owner having a suite on one of the upper decks. It appears her tender storage is in the traditional aft lower deck area served by two side hatches and a fold out transom hatch.
